Pic of the Week 2

This image was taken at the Comic Convention i was attending at the Jacob Javits center. It was actually a 50s model car that had been air brushed with various cartoon figures. The whole car was covered in with all the famous characters from various cartoon shows, disney movies, and etc. I personally like this image becasue of the caputurance of the b/w cartoons witht he colored ones and then the juxtapostition of this bright red and black tire.

Yousef Karsh

I really like this portrait taken by Karsh because of the starkness in the contrast of the whitest of white of the woman's dress and the dark background. The contrast juxtaposes the woman towards the audience and creates a very daramatic effect. The side light creates a diffused, soft, and seductive appearance to the portrait, enhancing it even more. This iimage is definitely one that takes in mind all details concerning light, placement of subject mattter and background.

Pic of the Week

I took this photograph after a recent trip to the American Museum of Natural History. It was actually a window in one of the exhibitions, but i experianted with the flash and got a illusion of it being really dark intside with a background light. I like the effect the glass had giving a random shape but a very islamic art shape to the window.
